Well appointed, great location, porter available to help, hotel bar downstairs and beach across the road - probably one of the best holiday rentals we've stayed in! 2 mins walk into town centre. Things to do in Cambridge
Cambridge is the most well known University Cities in the UK. It houses the magnificent and historic colleges and chapels of Cambridge University, which is now over 800 years old, parks, churches, world class music venues, museums and theatres, including the Fitzwilliam Museum and Cambridge Arts Theatre. There are ample green spaces including Jesus Green, Parker’s Piece, Christ Pieces and the beautiful River Cam bank. Cambridge also has a fantastic city life during the day and night with its vast range of pubs, restaurants, cinemas and art venues.
Active families and visitors will be delighted by the fact that Jesus Green is only two minutes from the holiday property, where there is an expansive park area for activities and picnics, children's playground, tennis courts and one of the biggest outdoor swimming pools in Europe. There is also a cinema complex in the Grafton Centre and Cambridge Leisure Centre, offering bowling, gym and indoor swimming pool facilities, and leisure space. For those who want to discover the history of this beautiful and famous city and university, there are plentiful occasions to do so, starting from the doorstep. Abbey Road is part of an old Victorian region of the city and is right next to the main road that leads to the city centre. Here you will find many sightseeing opportunities. Heading towards Magdalene Street you will easily be able to navigate to the most famous street in Cambridge - King’s Parade - where you'll find King’s College, King's College Chapel and Great St Mary’s Church. While walking along Magdalene Street you will be able to cross the River Cam and, if interested, go punting. very traditional Cambridge activity will give you the chance to do some essential sightseeing of the Cambridge University colleges while sitting comfortably in the punt and listening to the shimmer of water. Take a bottle of fizzy to make it a real occasion.
